Description

There’s an old Jewish custom to write BS”D, an acronym for the Aramaic phrase b’syata d’shmaya (with the help of heaven), at the beginning of a letter or at the top of any written work. The reason behind this custom is that even when we go about our daily tasks, we always keep Hashem on our minds and seek Divine assistance in everything we do. As the verse says, “I place Hashem before me constantly, because He is at my right hand, I will not falter” (Psalms 16:8). In this manner, we are not only more aware of God, but whomever we come into contact with also gains awareness of God in their personal life.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, had the custom of starting off his letters with “ב״ה” and he encouraged others to start off their letters acknowledging G‑d in a similar fashion (see Likutei Sichot, vol. 6, p. 190, and vol. 24, p. 599).

The BS”D HLU pen has these words written directly on it with hopes that one will strengthen their relationship with Hashem and receive great Divine assistance in all their pursuits.  Additionally, the inspirational words, “Do your best and Hashem will do the rest!” are also written across this awesome pen.
